Highly commended

Stacey Lewry has been with Boots UK for over 10 years. In 2014 she was promoted to store manager and it’s certainly a good job she was. The pharmacy used to have a notorious reputation. Long waiting times and customer complaints made it a place most people would not like to work, let alone take the helm. But Stacey didn’t shy away from the challenge, and her efforts have resulted in her coming highly commended for the Team Leader category.

“Stacey has led her team through a massive period of instability and disruption to a position of strength,” says Janice Perkins, RoE judge and chair of the RPS Community Pharmacy Expert Advisory Group. “She’s led by example and given her team the time and space to grow and develop. She definitely goes above and beyond.”

Having turned things around, the store now carries a customer care score of 100 per cent. The team support other local stores and Boots UK even uses the pharmacy as a training ground for care homes, under Stacey’s leadership. “It’s credit to the team really,” she says. “I’ve cherry picked and built a team around me that are really good. We work really well together.”

“Stacey is by far the best manger I have ever worked for,” says nominator and pre-registration pharmacy technician, Samantha Campbell. “Stacey goes above and beyond for her staff and patients. She is always helping other stores with the fountain of knowledge she has and ensuring that they are working to the high standards set by Boots. Nothing is ever too much for her and she is always working to solve problems and issues that arise at our store and others.”
